1
PROPERTY DAMAGE ASSESSMENT
The first step is to book an appointment to have your property inspected. Relevant storm-related damage must be assessed and documented. Once the property inspection is complete, and if it is our strong belief that your property has incurred qualifying storm damage we will advise you to file a claim with your insurance company.
2
FILE THE CLAIM
File your claim by contacting your insurance company's claims department or by contacting your agent. We will provide you with a "date of loss" and other important information, and if you like, we are happy to hang around while you contact your insurer so that we can answer their questions for you.
1 - 3 DAYS
3
INSURANCE SHEDULES A TIME TO INSPECT THE PROPERTY
After the claim has been reported, it will need to be investigated by an adjuster to determine the amount of loss or damages covered by your insurance policy. In most cases, the adjuster will will have a 3rd party inspection service reach out to you or your contractor for scheduling.
2 - 10 DAYS
4
PROPERTY INSPECTION
This is the date your adjuster or his appointed 3rd party inspector visits your property to complete an inspection on behalf of your insurance company. The inspection typically lasts about 1 hour and you will want to have your contractor present so that he can ensure nothing gets overlooked.
1 - 7 DAYS
5
RECEIVE INSURANCE PAPERWORK
After reviewing all relevant findings and documentation, your adjuster will determine, based upon your policy, whether your loss is "covered" (claim approved) or the claim has been denied. In either case, you will receive paperwork stating the adjusters decision to approve or deny coverage - for a denial of coverage, the paperwork should state the reasons for that denial.
